Tau
Tau (uppercase Τ, lowercase τ; Greek: ταυ [taf]) is the 19th letter of the Greek alphabet. In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 300.
The name in English is pronounced /taʊ/ or /tɔː/, but in modern Greek it is [taf]. This is because the pronunciation of the combination of Greek letters αυ has changed from ancient to modern times from one of [au] to either [av] or [af], depending on what follows (see Greek orthography).
Tau was derived from the Phoenician letter taw 
(𐤕). Letters that arose from tau include Roman T and Cyrillic Te (Т, т).
The letter occupies the Unicode slots U+03C4 (lowercase) and U+03A4 (uppercase). In HTML, they can be produced with named entities (τ and Τ), decimal references (τ and Τ), or hexadecimal references (τ and Τ).

Tauá
Tauá is a municipality in the state of Ceará in the Northeast region of Brazil. In 2010 it had a total population of 55,755 people. It is one of the largest municipalities in the state, with an area of 4,018.188 square kilometres (1,551.431 sq mi).
History
The toponymy of Tauá refers to an indigenous word meaning "yellow clay and loam" in the Tupi language. Its origins date from at least the early 18th century. On December 14, 1801, Ouvidor Gregório José da Silva went to the small settlement of Tauá to raise the site to a town. On May 3, 1802, it became a formal settlement. On August 17, 1832, it was given freguesia status. On December 2, 1889, the site was renamed São João do Príncipe dos Inhamuns. It received the classification of city on August 2, 1929, returning to its former name.
Geography
The city is located 337 kilometres (209 mi) away from the capital of Ceará State, Fortaleza. The town lies along BR-020, 60.8 kilometres (37.8 mi) by road northeast of Parambu. Districts of the municipality include Marrecas, Barra Nova, Trici, Marruás, Carrapateiras, Inhamuns, and Santa Tereza. The Jaguaribe River's headwaters are located in the Tauá districts of Trici and Carrapateiras. At Tauá, the Jaguaribe is rather narrow, 50–100 metres (160–330 ft) in width, and is sandy. The course of the river between Tauá to the mouth of the Salgado River is approximately 250 kilometres (160 mi).

Tau (particle)
The tau (τ), also called the tau lepton, tau particle, or tauon, is an elementary particle similar to the electron, with negative electric charge and a spin of 1⁄2. Together with the electron, the muon, and the three neutrinos, it is a lepton. Like all elementary particles with half-integral spin, the tau has a corresponding antiparticle of opposite charge but equal mass and spin, which in the tau's case is the antitau (also called the positive tau). Tau particles are denoted by τ− and the antitau by τ+.
Tau leptons have a lifetime of 6987290000000000000♠2.9×10−13 s and a mass of 7003177682000000000♠1776.82 MeV/c2 (compared to 7002105700000000000♠105.7 MeV/c2 for muons and 6999511000000000000♠0.511 MeV/c2 for electrons). Since their interactions are very similar to those of the electron, a tau can be thought of as a much heavier version of the electron. Because of their greater mass, tau particles do not emit as much bremsstrahlung radiation as electrons; consequently they are potentially highly penetrating, much more so than electrons. However, because of their short lifetime, the range of the tau is mainly set by their decay length, which is too small for bremsstrahlung to be noticeable: their penetrating power appears only at ultra high energy (above PeV energies).

Tau Particles Aren't Leptons
Tau particles aren't leptons. We can tell a particles composition from its decay products and tauons decay to 4 or more pions, not simply a muon or electron. The decay modes, mass, and composition make them the lowest mass D meson rather than a lepton. So if we are looking for a way to simplify the table of elements, deleting the tau is a great start. New Physics Involving the Tau Lepton?
There is currently a lot of interest in the particle physics community in a set of experimental results related to lepton flavor which are showing small deviations from the Standard Model prediction. Here, we take a look at 2 observables that may be hinting at a difference between the tau lepton and the electron and muon. These are called R(D) and R(D*), and are related to specific decays of B mesons. The results that we show here are from a combination performed by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group. Their paper is: HFLAV Collaboration, Yasmine Sara Amhis, et al. Eur.Phys.J.C 81 (2021) 3, 226, arXiv:1909.12524 [hep-ex] We're only looking at pages 179-183. We are all very familiar with the particles that constitute an atom, such as the proton, the neutron and the electron. But in reality, there are dozens of other particles, each of them with a different behaviour, and each of them interacting differently with the others.
One of the most fascinating particles is the neutrino. Neutrino is without any doubt the most elusive among the fundamental particles, since it barely interacts with matter and it requires gigantic detectors in order to be observed!

The discovery of the neutrino is a very interesting story. At the beginning of the 20th century, scientists discovered radioactivity: atoms that spontaneously decay, turning into atoms of another element and emitting other particles in the process.
One of these types of radioactive decays is known as beta-decay. In this process, the nucleus of an atom emits an electron, and the atom turns into one of another element: the reason for this change is that a neutron inside the nucleus turns into a proton.
When scientist observed this process for the first time, they realized that there was something unexplained. In every physical process, energy is always conserved: this is one of the most important laws of physics, and there are no exceptions to it.

The decay modes, mass, and composition make them the lowest mass D meson rather than a lepton. So if we are looking for a way to simplify the table of elements, deleting the tau is a great start.

20 years ago the LSND experiment at Los Alamos detected a strange anomaly in neutrino oscillations. In 2018 the Fermilab experiment MiniBooNE that was checking on this observation saw it too. The anomaly is above the discovery threshold. What does this mean for the standard model of particle physics?

There is currently a lot of interest in the particle physics community in a set of experimental results related to lepton flavor which are showing small deviations from the Standard Model prediction.
Here, we take a look at 2 observables that may be hinting at a difference between the tau lepton and the electron and muon. These are called R(D) and R(D*), and are related to specific decays of B mesons.
The results that we show here are from a combination performed by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group. Their paper is:
HFLAV Collaboration, Yasmine Sara Amhis, et al. Eur.Phys.J.C 81 (2021) 3, 226, arXiv:1909.12524 [hep-ex]
We're only looking at pages 179-183.
In this paper, they use results from the Babar (at SLAC), Belle (at KEK), and LHCb (at CERN) experiments. The references for those results are:

If a particle decays into other particles, how can it possibly be that they are elementary? Doesn't the decay mean that the particle must have been made up of the other particles? And why do particles decay in the first place? These are really good questions which I get a lot. At the end of this video you'll know the answers.

The grim darkness of the 41st millennium is often characterized by moral grey areas and acts of terrible evil. its a universe where war is everything and every faction is wrapped up in a perpetual pursuit of violence. Yet there seems to be one faction that breaks this mold. one that ( on its surface) appears to value peace and diplomacy. But are the Tau as benevolent as they appear to be or is there something going on under the surface? lets talk about it.
This is my first attempt at a long form lore video. There is still an enormous amount to talk about when it comes to the tau, like their lack of warp presence or any of their named characters/ sphere expansions. my first few videos I publish will basically serve as practice for me. Long form content is a totally different beast compared to making shorts so I'm going to mess up here and there well I nail down my editing, scripting and all the various other intricacies that come with producing lore content.

Białas, Gedz, Bisz, Śliwa, Vix.N czy Bonson. Zaledwie rok później Medium ogłosił, że ... kończy karierę. W publicznym oświadczeniu opowiedział słuchaczom, że cierpiał na depresję, był pogubiony w używkach i prowadził bardzo złe życie, co sprowadziło go na samo dno. Podzielił się również tym, że rezygnuje z kariery Medium ponieważ Pan Bóg uratował mu życie i chce za to spłacić wobec Niego dług wdzięczności. Po nawróceniu zmienił pseudonim na Tau i postanowił tworzyć muzykę z chrześcijańskim przekazem. Spotkał go za to ogromny hejt, ale nie powstrzymał przed wydawaniem muzyki aż do dziś.
Ponad dekadę od tych wydarzeń Medium wraca na scenę aby jeszcze raz wbić zwycięską flagę na mapie polskiego rapu. Słuchacze czekali na ten moment 11 długich lat.

Tau
Tau (uppercase Τ, lowercase τ; Greek: ταυ [taf]) is the 19th letter of the Greek alphabet. In the system of Greek numerals it has a value of 300.
The name in English is pronounced /taʊ/ or /tɔː/, but in modern Greek it is [taf]. This is because the pronunciation of the combination of Greek letters αυ has changed from ancient to modern times from one of [au] to either [av] or [af], depending on what follows (see Greek orthography).
Tau was derived from the Phoenician letter taw (𐤕). Letters that arose from tau include Roman T and Cyrillic Te (Т, т).
The letter occupies the Unicode slots U+03C4 (lowercase) and U+03A4 (uppercase). In HTML, they can be produced with named entities (τ and Τ), decimal references (τ and Τ), or hexadecimal references (τ and Τ).

We are all very familiar with the particles that constitute an atom, such as the proton, the neutron and the electron. But in reality, there are dozens of other particles, each of them with a different behaviour, and each of them interacting differently with the others.
One of the most fascinating particles is the neutrino. Neutrino is without any doubt the most elusive among the fundamental particles, since it barely interacts with matter and it requires gigantic detectors in order to be observed!

The discovery of the neutrino is a very interesting story. At the beginning of the 20th century, scientists discovered radioactivity: atoms that spontaneously decay, turning into atoms of another element and emitting other particles in the process.
One of these types of radioactive decays is known as beta-decay. In this process, the nucleus of an atom emits an electron, and the atom turns into one of another element: the reason for this change is that a neutron inside the nucleus turns into a proton.
When scientist observed this process for the first time, they realized that there was something unexplained. In every physical process, energy is always conserved: this is one of the most important laws of physics, and there are no exceptions to it.

Tau particles aren't leptons. We can tell a particles composition from its decay products and tauons decay to 4 or more pions, not simply a muon or electron. The decay modes, mass, and composition make them the lowest mass D meson rather than a lepton. So if we are looking for a way to simplify the table of elements, deleting the tau is a great start.

20 years ago the LSND experiment at Los Alamos detected a strange anomaly in neutrino oscillations. In 2018 the Fermilab experiment MiniBooNE that was checking on this observation saw it too. The anomaly is above the discovery threshold. What does this mean for the standard model of particle physics?

There is currently a lot of interest in the particle physics community in a set of experimental results related to lepton flavor which are showing small deviations from the Standard Model prediction.
Here, we take a look at 2 observables that may be hinting at a difference between the tau lepton and the electron and muon. These are called R(D) and R(D*), and are related to specific decays of B mesons.
The results that we show here are from a combination performed by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group. Their paper is:

We're only looking at pages 179-183.

If a particle decays into other particles, how can it possibly be that they are elementary? Doesn't the decay mean that the particle must have been made up of the other particles? And why do particles decay in the first place? These are really good questions which I get a lot. At the end of this video you'll know the answers.
